Do you tend to ‘follow the rules’ for a few days and then the rebel in you comes lose and eats everything in sight? Are you constantly thinking about food, your weight, the way your body looks and how you want to change that? Do you feel like you’ll have more worth when you lose a certain amount of weight? Can the scale radically change your feelings about your body from one day to the next?
Do you want to stop feeling guilty about eating and end the obsession with food?
The Eat 4 Life program is an online 10-week non-diet approach program developed as part of the world-renowned Dr Lynn Rossy’s PhD program. In this course you will learn how to:
- trust that you and your body are working for the same end – your health, your happiness & your peace.
- instead of punishing yourself for not being who you should be take care of who you already are (while working on who you would like to be).
- learn how to create a healthy relationship with your food, mind, and body
- re-learn how to use your internal physical cues to guide what and when you eat.
- discover the pleasure of taking care of yourself in a way that nourishes and heals.
If you are seeking professional development, the program will give you tools and practices to teach mindful eating to your clients. If you are seeking personal knowledge about mindful eating, the Eat for Life Program will help you enjoy the food you eat, love your body, and live with joy.
Research on this program, published in the American Journal of Health Promotion, demonstrated that participants had significant improvements in comparison to a control group as follows:
- Increased mindfulness
- Greater appreciation for their bodies
- Increased intuitive eating (eating based on hunger cues instead of emotional and environmental cues).
- Decreased binge eating and other problematic eating behaviours
Read what participants have to say about the class:
“If you struggle with guilt or anxiety around food or have simply had enough of following dietary regimes, then this may be the course that helps you make peace with both food and yourself.” – Michelle Kuklinski
“This is a life changing course with a focus on sustainable, healthy living and body positivity. It teaches us to slow down and enjoy our food in a way that makes it manageable even for those of us with busy lives. It’s a course of lovely, supportive group sessions with a fabulous teacher who really does care about bringing joy and love back to your body and the way we eat our food.” – Kez Barnes

We will meet as a group each week live on Zoom. You can take the class from the comfort of your own home and still engage in a lively, meaningful group learning experience and exchange. Zoom offers the possibility to meet with the whole group but also for small break-out groups. A high-speed internet connection is recommended. Computers, tablets, and phones work, but keep in mind that with the smaller screen of a tablet or phone the images of your class friends will be very small. Your device needs an in-build camera and either an in-build microphone or you need a microphone to plug in. In addition, I will be recording the sessions so that if you have to miss one then you will be able to see the entire session later.
